Ablewell Care Workers are Achieving a Zero Transmissions Rate Through the Covid Pandemic!

Published on: 04/05/21

We are well into the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, and we are reflecting upon the successes of the past year. Whilst there have been some difficult times, it is important to recognise all that we have achieved.

The pandemic has presented many challenges and we are extremely pleased to be maintaining the delivery of safe and high-quality support to people we care for.

Quality and Satisfaction

The 2020 quality review demonstrates that despite the complex and demanding issues that our Care Workers were faced with, there has been no negative impact on the services received by our customers.

The review included results from surveys carried out with both staff and customers, to judge the company’s management of the pandemic and its impact. The results from both surveys are very positive and encouraging, and 100% of respondents rated our service as Excellent or Good.

One Customer said “They have taken every care to keep me safe.”

We are proud to have had no transmissions of the virus within our service. The whole staff team has remained COVID-FREE. The key to Ablewell’s success is the scrupulous adherence to guidance and responsive attitude of all involved.

Team Effort

John Berry, Health and Safety and HR Manager continues to lead the implementation of our responsive Covid strategy. John has supported Senior Managers to interpret the fast-changing legislation. He has provided staff in all areas of our business with understandable guidance. This has been clear, precise, and practical advice on how to keep ourselves and our customers safe.

Victoria Lambert, Registered Manager, has worked closely with the local authority and the NHS to ensure that Care Workers have had access to correct and sufficient supplies of PPE, to allow safe working. Victoria also supported our employees to receive vaccinations at the earliest availability.

Our training through 2020 focussed on infection control. The learning included specific Covid 19 training. Staff achieved a 100% pass rate on all training and refresher training.

Along with these efforts, people across the business have rigorously followed and complied with our protocols which ensured our new ways of working, including regular testing and the formation of team bubbles.

Ablewell now focusses on conserving its zero-transmission status. We continue to work with the wide-ranging safety measures that have been proven as successful.
