January 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Ablewell’s trading. Congratulations to us!

We would like to thank everyone that has supported us through our ten years. Employees  past and present, customers, their families, commissioners, suppliers and professional bodies. Many of whom have been with us for the entirety of our existence.

Throughout the decade, we have achieved some great successes, and faced some tough challenges. Our highs include regulatory inspection, where we achieved a rating of ‘GOOD’, and becoming a preferred provider for a number of local organisations. In addition, we have supported many employees to achieve on a personal level, with qualifications gained, and development of their career with us.

In 2014-2015 we worked side by side with our Landlords, to completely renovate and move into our current premises. Based in Macclesfield, Green Street Mill provides a large space for us to support and manage the service that we provide across Cheshire East, with onsite training and resources for our team to access.

In 2020 a wobble room was created, to provide a safe space for frontline staff to vent, support each other or just take time out from the pressures of working through unpredictable and testing times.

Our most challenging period of course, has been the past two years, through the pandemic. Covid-19, and the associated restrictions, and reduction of other services, has forced us to change the way in which we work. Our Care Workers have taken on more responsibility and provided greater levels of support, to the people we care for in the community.

With increased isolation and decreased social interaction, peoples needs have changed, and in response to this, we have widened our services to include more meaningful social time, and cognitive stimulation, as well as providing face to face guidance on all areas of independence in the home.

As times continue to change for everybody, our aim is to continue to enable people to thrive in their home environment by providing excellent and varied services, and to provide meaningful employment by encouraging colleagues to develop themselves.

We were hoping to be able to hold a celebratory event, to mark the occasion of our tenth anniversary, but it just hasn’t been possible with the uncertainty, and risks associated with Covid-19. We look forward to being able to do so, later on this year.
